KITA Signed MOU with UAE Chambers
of Commerce & Industry for Mutual Economic and Trade Cooperation

Agreed to work together to hold international forums and business conferences,
resolve the difficulties of the companies that have entered into the regions,
and exchange trade and investment information between the two countries -
The Korea International
Trade Association (Chairman: Kim Young-ju) and the Federation of UAE Chambers
of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorendum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual
economic and trade cooperation on October 27th at COEX in
Samseong-dong.
The
signing ceremony was held online and Vice Chairman Han Jin-hyun of the Korea
International Trade Association and Secretary General Humaid Ben Salem of the
Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry signed the MOU as the
representative of each organization.
Vice
Chairman Han Jin-hyun of KITA said, “UAE is the only country in the Middle East
region which Korea has had a special strategic partnership with since 2018, and
this year marks the 40th anniversary of the two countries’
diplomatic ties,” and also added, “The two countries are making efforts to
normalize their trade businesses by establishing the fast track system for
business people in August while the companies in both countries are undergoing
unprecedented adversity due to COVID-19. We will take the lead in revitalizing
private exchanges through this MOU.”
The UAE Federal Chamber of
Commerce and Industry is a representative economic organization that
encompasses seven Emirate Chambers of Commerce in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi
and Dubai. In the future, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in joint
business events such as international forums, policy seminars, and business
conferences, recommendations to the governments to resolve the difficulties of
the companies that have entered into the regions, exchange of trade and
investment information between the two countries, and mediation of corporate
disputes.
